Curator, Contemporary Art

Curator and visual arts manager, MA in Arts Management and Cultural Policy of the Goldsmiths College, University of London and former inaugural director of the National Center for Contemporary Art Cerrillos, Chile - the first government-run facility dedicated to contemporary artists.

Her areas of research are Cultural diplomacy, Collaborative cultural networks, and Artistic Residency programs.
She has worked in several institutions in Chile and abroad, specializing in management of contemporary art projects. Her previous work includes projects with Diversity Art Forum (UK), Can Xalant (Barcelona), The Substation (Melbourne), Museu de Arte Contemporanea MAC Niteroi (Brasil), Art Fair (Chile), El Museo del Barrio (New York), Museo Salvador Allende (Chile), Proyecto Helicoide (Caracas-New York), Museo de Arte Moderno MAM Chiloé (Chile) among others.
She was Director of exhibitions and Curatorial committee member at Museo de Artes Visuales (MAVI) in Santiago, Chile, where she produced several exhibitions with artists such as Eugenio Dittborn, Wolfgang Tillmans, Bernardo Oyarzún, Joaquín Sánchez, José Pedro Godoy and Ricardo Yrarrazaval among others. Beatriz was producer of Chilean art prize "MAVI Premio Arte Joven", between 2007 and 2013, and its curator and manager between 2011 and 2013.
She is part of the board of the art book fair IMPRESIONANTE, and usual collaborator for Artishock and TONIC magazine.

Beatriz was part of the selection committee for our first Open Call and is a member of our Circle of Trust: an international advisory board consisting of several Latin American and Indigenous professionals that offer their experience and insight to help shape Valley of the Possible.
