Self-Directed Residency
Next to our current open call at Gagel Farm in the Netherlands, we are offering self-directed residency opportunities for emerging artists of all disciplines and backgrounds. The residencies will take place during autumn and winter (March to September) for a minimum period of 4 weeks in the Chilean Andes.
Valley of the Possible invites artists from all disciplines and backgrounds for a self-directed residency period in the Cañon del Blanco valley, Wallmapu (La Araucanía Andina), southern Chile.
If you are looking for time to reflect, to work or to research immersed in nature, this is for you!
The cabin is immersed in the forest and has direct views on the Sierra Nevada volcano. It accomodates one or two people (if a couple). On the premises are also a yurt, which doubles as a guest room or work space (or for yoga and meditation).
This time of the year is winter in the Southern Hemisphere, which means moody misty mornings, heavy downpours, night frosts, snow and crisp sunny days in between. A period to explore the wet forests, marvel at dripping mosses, go for a snowshoe hike, relax in steaming thermal hot springs, and come back to a crackling fire in the cabin. The perfect environment to finally write that book, script or music part that you always wanted to finish.
Selection is based upon the alignment of your practice with the goals of Valley of the Possible, as well as your affinity with this region and its cultural context.
Send your letter of motivation and portfolio to info@valleyofthepossible.com. Deadline: February 16th 2025. We will inform the selected artists by March 1st.
